The Veterinary staff prides themselves on
providing “state of the art” anesthesia and
surgery. This includes intra-operative
monitoring by a veterinary anesthetic nurse
using heart rate monitoring, heated surgery
tables, heated recovery tables and pulse oximetry. Additionally the
use of IV fluids, pre operative blood screens
and EKG’s, help make anesthesia and surgery as
safe as possible.

| The
Veterinarians here at Sheabel are
competent in most all aspects of surgery
from spays and neuters, to more
complicated intestinal surgery, many
orthopedic cases, laser surgery,
endoscopy, and most any soft tissue
surgery. We have operated on pets
ranging from the smallest hamster to a
200-pound large breed dog. We even
plated a monkey’s leg once, which made
national news! |

| There
may be an occasion where we feel a board
certified surgical specialist would be
better suited to perform a procedure.
When this occurs, we refer you to the
specialist whom we feel is best suited
to help your pet. |
|
|
| Most
surgeries are performed on an out
patient basis. Usually your pet does not
eat the night before and is dropped off
by 8:00 AM.
Surgeries are performed in the
morning and your pet will recover here
until sometime after 3:00 PM. We will
walk your pet and offer it food and
water before going home. You will most
likely be given postoperative discharge
instructions and any medications for
your pet when you pick up. |
